Terms & Conditions

Conditions of Enrolment with Dandarah Dance School (Dandarah)

These terms and conditions apply to in-person classes and online courses and workshops.

In person classes: You may enrol in either a Casual Class (single class), Full Term (1x class a week) or Multiple Class Packages (2x or 3x classes a week).

You may also enrol in online courses and workshops.

You may only enrol for yourself.

You must arrive on time for class. If you are late, Dandarah reserves the right to decline your attendance at class.

Class fees must be paid in full prior to the start of term or class.  Your place in the class/term is not confirmed until payment has been received.

All classes are subject to a minimum number of students.  If enrolments do not meet the minimum, the class will be cancelled.  If your class is cancelled for this reason, you will be entitled to a full refund, or the opportunity to book into a different class session.

All classes and terms are non-refundable. Refunds cannot be given if:

  • you change your mind

  • for online classes, you do not have appropriate technology or resources to attend;

  • you are unable to attend class for any reason outside of Dandarah’s control.

If your class or term is cancelled by Dandarah, you will be entitled to a refund.

In some circumstances (such as unforeseen injury), at Dandarah’s discretion, enrolment in a class or term may be transferrable to another class/term provided that you give Dandarah immediate notice.  If you become permanently unable to attend your class or term, please advise Dandarah as soon as possible.  A satisfactory medical certificate from a qualified practitioner may entitle you to a pro-rata refund for any classes you miss.

If you enrol in a term:

  • if you miss a class, you may, with Dandarah’s permission, take a ‘make up’ class in another class session in the same term.

  • Classes are not transferrable between terms.

COVID-19 Disruptions: Dandarah reserves the right to cancel, change or alter classes (including to an online format) in accordance with Public Health guidance and rules. If classes change to an online format and you are unable to access the technology, you may be entitled to a pro-rata refund for any remaining classes.

Dandarah reserves the right to decline your attendance at class if your teacher considers that your attendance is disruptive to the safe environment of the class.

Classes may be recorded by way of photograph or video for learning or promotional purposes. For more information, see the Privacy Policy.

For online classes

In any online (live-streaming) classes, it is your responsibility to ensure that you have a suitable device, internet connection and safe dance space to participate in classes.

Classes are live-streamed and must be attended at the appointed time. Dandarah may record online classes. For more information, see the Privacy Policy.

You will not share class login information, or record or distribute content to others who are not enrolled in the class.

You will set up your camera and lighting so that your body is visible to the instructor. If you do not use a camera, we cannot give you feedback.

COVID-19 Protection Framework

Do not attend class if you are feeling unwell, and you must leave class if you are asked.

Scan in with the QR Code or record your visit in writing for contact tracing purposes.

In RED, ORANGE and GREEN you are required to show your Vaccination Pass to Dandarah prior to class starting. This may vary depending on the venue’s rules.

In RED wear a mask as you enter and leave class. Some venues may always require the use of a mask, including while exercising.

Wash or sanitise hands upon entering and leaving, after using the bathroom.

Cover your mouth and nose if you sneeze or cough; then wash your hands.

Maintain 1m distance from other participants.

Avoid congregating inside or outside the venue, before or after class.

Notify us if you or anyone in your household is diagnosed with Covid-19 or advised to isolate.

No spectators or non-participants are permitted to attend the studio, including children.

If you do not comply with these requirements, Dandarah reserves the right to decline your attendance at class.

Fitness and Health Information

For most people, dancing is a fun and safe form of exercise. However, all physical activity may carry health risks.  Dandarah does not take any responsibility for your health and fitness, especially when you undertake a remote class.  Dandarah cannot and will not provide medical advice.  Your health and fitness is your responsibility. The following precautions are recommended to help provide you with a safe environment:

  • Dandarah strongly encourages participation in the warm up and cool down of each class;

  • Bring a water bottle and ensure you are well hydrated;

  • If you have a pre-existing injury, medical condition, or are pregnant, seek professional medical advice before attending class.  Please also advise Dandarah of your condition, and the medical advice you have received. Dandarah reserves the right to decline your attendance at class if there are medical concerns.

  • Listen to your body – do not move outside your normal range, and take new movements carefully.  If you feel pain, stop the movement and notify your instructor.

Participation in performances

From time to time, students of Dandarah may be invited to perform belly dance (for example at community cultural events and at the Dandarah end of year show).

Student participation in these events is unpaid and voluntary.  If students wish to participate, they will be expected to attend all practices and rehearsals.  They may also be required to purchase or make costumes, assist with the sale of tickets, and appear in promotional material.  If a student cannot commit to the requirements of performing, they should not perform.
